Cases of mouth cancer rise by 40 per cent in 10 years, as disease hits more of the under-40s

04/08/2016

Writing in the Western Mail dental hygienist Alison Lowe discusses a recent increase in the number of cases of mouth cancer.

She suggests that the reasons behind this rise, particularly in the under-40s, may be excessive consumption of alcohol and cancers caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). She outlines the signs to watch for and stresses the importance of early diagnosis.
